What is 2x/8 = 1/12
Answer STEP 1:    You are given an algebraic equation which contains fractions. To find the solution means to find the value of x that will satisfy the equation. As you can see, the left side of the equation contains the variable term
2x/8. You have to make the coefficient of the variable equal to 1.

Multiply both sides of the equation by 8/2, the reciprocal of the coefficient of the variable.
multiply both sides 8 over 2


The solution for the given equation is 1/3.
